The Third ships reunion was held in   Buffalo NY from September 13-17, 2000.  The responsibility of this reunion was taken on by Dave Hoffman of Orchard Park, NY.

The first day of our arrival at the Fur Points Sheraton hotel in Buffalo, found many of us registering and renewing old friendships with former shipmates and spouses.

The following day took us to Niagara Falls where we visited both the American and Canadian side of the falls.  We boarded the “Maid of the Mist” for a wet trip to the base of the falls.  That evening at the hotel, we had the opportunity to see an “Elvis” impersonator perform.  On Friday, we visited the Naval and Serviceman’s Park and had the opportunity to go aboard the destroyer the USS The Sullivans and the guided missile cruiser USS Little Rock.  Many of us enjoyed visiting engine rooms, pilot houses, crews messes, gun turrets and crews compartments.  For many of our spouses, this was their first visit on board a naval ship.  We then boarded the “Miss Buffalo” where we had lunch and viewed Lake Erie, the Niagara River and the canals.

On Saturday, we conducted our business meeting and elected our new secretary Frank Rushman and the new 2002 Reunion Coordinators, Bob Allaire, Bruce Pisani and Ralph Bello.  That evening we held our reunion banquet at the hotel.  LTJG Les Wicks was our guest speaker who recounted his experiences while on board the Plymouth Rock.
